Chloé: It's All About the Pants
Few collections summed up the new sobriety emerging in Paris like the latest show from Paris house Chloe on Tuesday, March 9, where the emphasis was very much on making a clever commercial, rather than an avant-garde, fashion statement. This was a fall 2010 collection all about poise, where the fluid lines and ever so slightly curvy silhouette were easy to understand and, more relevantly, to wear. This was the most assured performance by Chloe's creative director Hannah MacGibbon since her appointment two years ago.

The house is about the pants. We have a wonderful selection of the pants, said Chloe chief executive Ralph Toledano. Pants haven't played such a strong role on Chloe's runways in recent seasons, but Mr. Toledano says that the brand made a conscious decision to showcase what it does best: It's all about the quality, excellent quality.
